Getting Ready For School
Members of the HANDS-ON-ETOBICOKE committee came together on Saturday, the 20th of August at the clubhouse to "Get Ready for School". It was a fun filled afternoon with laughter, crafts, counting, fellowship, imagining the smiles on the children's faces on the first day of school as they carry their new backpacks filled with supplies ready to embark on the new school year.
250 backpacks where packed with school supplies for children in need.
The bags will be delivered to: LAMP CHC; Ernestine's Women's Shelter; Salvation Army Kipling Temple; St. James's (Burnhamthorpe) Food Basket for their outreach program; Anduhyaun and Nekenaan First Nations Women's Shelters; Police Division 22; Haven on the Queensway; Rexdale Alliance Church for their outreach program; Youth Without Shelter; Police Division 23; Syrian and Iraqi Refugee families recently arrived in Etobicoke.
