Coldest Night of the Year

On Saturday, February 25, Haven on the Queensway "Coldest Night of the Year" fundraising walk took place. Walkers were taking part to experience the conditions of the homeless and needy in Etobicoke during the winter months. Rotary Etobicoke is proud of our club members that walked to raise money for Haven's Community Center in cold temperatures and high winds. Gillian, Michael, Joann, Jon, Laura and Hugh took on the 2 km route while Vicki did the full 10 km walk. Vicki also did a wonderful job of raising pledges totalling $400 from her many supporters. Many thanks to club members who personally pledged money to our team. Gillian believes the total amount, after all pledges are received, should exceed $1,300. Rotary Etobicoke was acknowledged and thanked several times during the event from Haven organizers for our ongoing support over three years.
