New Generations
New Generations is involved in programs that work with young people.
Rotary Youth Exchange
NOTE: Please see the December 5 event if you are interested in learning more about this program.
The Rotary Youth Exchange is an international program that has been a key part of Rotary for many years. Our club participates both by sponsoring a student to go overseas, and by welcoming a student.
In 2010-2011, Emily Winson went to Chile, and our club hosted Ale Medrano from Mexico.
In 2011 - 2012, Allison Williams is inTaiwan, and we're welcoming Nils Thornevik from Haninge, Sweden.
Camp Enterprise
The Club runs a Camp Enterprise Program each May for local High School students ages 15-18. The Camp teaches the students many aspects of business, career counseling and team building. See the article about this program...
RYLA
Each year the Club sponsors a candidate to attend the District's Rotary Youth Leadership Award Program. RYLA candidates are ages 14- 30 and are chosen for their leadership potential. They attend an all expense paid week-long workshop to discuss leadership skills and learn those skills through practice.
Rotaract
The Club sponsored a new Rotaract Club at York University. Rotaract is a Service Club for young adults 18 to 30.
With Rotaract Youth can:
- Develop professional leadership skills.
- Serve the community & promote goodwill.
- Gain an understanding of the need, problems & opportunities in the local community & worldwide.
Scholarships
Each year the Rotary Club of Etobicoke provides a number of Secondary and High school scholarships to promote education, foster community service, high ethical standards and the advancement of goodwill and peace in our communities.
