Rotary Meets the Community! A special after work event where the commnity of Etobicoke meets the Rotary Clubs in Etobicoke. The event is hosted by Donna Child Gallery. Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served. This is a complementary event, but, we would like to ask you to bring your business card for an opportunity to network with members of the Etobicoke Community. Rotary has been part of the fabric of the community for over 90 years. Rotarians live by the moto: Service above Self. We are sure you have run into Rotarians througout the community over the years, the Rotary Peace Park, the largest Ribfest in Toronto, the Toronto Ribfest. For over 20years Toronto Ribfest at Centennial Park has been the largest event in Etobicoke. In Etobicoke there are 3 Rotary Clubs, The Rotary Club of Etobicoke; The Rotary Club of Toronto West and Rotary Club of Toronto Tibetan. You are cordially invited to join us for this event. Speaker - Steve RutledgeWith the assistance of our International Team, we will welcome, Whitby Sunrise Rotarian, Steve Rutledge as our speakerSteve is passionate about helping the people of Laos. Which is known as the most heavily bombed country in the world and has the highest number of unexploded ordinances per square mile, Steve has seen the need first hand and devotes about four months each year investing his time to provide water and sanitation to the most remote areas in Laos.
This will be an exciting and informative meeting

Luncheon - Old MillMay 22, 2024 - 12:00 p.m.Speaker - Susan Chamberlain - George Hull CentreSusan Chamberlain is the Executive Director of the George Hull Centre for Children and Families, a comprehensive children’s mental health centre in Toronto, serving children from birth to age 18 and their families. She began her career working with children and families at Cavan Youth Services in Peterborough, before returning to school to complete her Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Toronto. After graduation, she worked at the Hincks-Dellcrest Centre for nine years, primarily in the Rural Treatment Centre as a family therapist, before joining the George Hull Centre as the Director of Residential and Day Treatment Services, overseeing two adolescent live-in treatment programs, a substance abuse program and a day treatment program. She was appointed Executive Director in 2016.

Good evening Fellow Rotarians, Our last regular meeting of the year - June 26th, 2024 Speakers - Ian Lancaster & Safia Ahmed - Subject: Child & Maternal Care in Somalia Ian Lancaster - An Arch Klump Society Member and Rotary International Peace Committee. Ian comes from a long family tradiiton of Rotarians, his father was a former district governor in Windsor, Ontario. Ian has been president, Rotary Coordinator, Peace fellowship mentor, etc. etc. He will share with us his Rotary experience and any insight he has for assisting Safia in her quest for a hospital for Maternal & Child care in Somalia. Other topics: RIBFEST!! It's going to be AMAZING!! 40 new citizens to be sworn in; spronsorship $'s over the top; our very own Jay Douglas will be performing etc. etc. Gerry and his committee have out done themselves.

The school has grown from seven students in 1975 to more than 60 children being served annually. |

Thanksgiving Bag Drop Off - October 2nd -3:30 p.m. at Etobicoke Collegiate -86 Montgomery Road, M9A 3N5 (beside Memorial Pool) - We NEED drivers and runners - please let me know if you are available. We are working with the Toronto Tibetan Club and the Toronto West Club. We will be fropping off 1000 bags in the Kingsway area.
2. Foundation Walk - Fairy Lake - Markham - October 6th - Registration 8:30 - lunch will be provided
4. Thanksgiving Bag pick up - October 6th - Etobicoke Collegiate - 2:00 p.m. - we NEED cars and runners

Our AGM will be held in November - I will work on the dates at the Past President's meeting.
