Join us for an update from our own Bob Scott.
Bob was born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland, and received a medical degree with distinction from the University of Edinburgh in 1957. Bob immigrated to Cobourg Ontario Canada, where he continued as a small-town general practitioner which involved all aspects of medicine. He was a coroner for the Province of Ontario and investigated more than 1,200 cases before retiring in May 2003.
Bob became a member of the Rotary Club of Cobourg, in 1971 and served as President in 1978-79 and subsequently on many District 7070 committees and on many committees for Rotary International after his year as District Governor in 1987-88. He was elected a director of Rotary International in 1996 being appointed vice President for the year 1997-98. In 2010 Bob Chaired the Montreal Convention
In 2004, Bob became a Rotary Foundation trustee and elected Chair of the Trustees in 2007-08. In 2006, he began his term as chair of the International PolioPlus Committee a position he held until 30 June 2014. He rejoined the committee as of 1 July 2015 as an advisor for 2 years. He has taken part in many National Immunisation Days in many counties including Pakistan, India, Nigeria, and Egypt. A Paul Harris Fellow, Bob has received the RI Service Above Self Award, The Rotary Foundation Citation for Meritorious Service and The Distinguished Service Award, the International Service Award for a Polio-Free World, and the Four Avenues of Service Citation. He has been named an outstanding leader in polio eradication by the United Nations Foundation and has received the Glenn Sawyer Service Award from the Ontario Medical Association for professional and community achievement. He received the Sitare-i-Khidmat award from President Zardari of Pakistan and was awarded the Order of Chad at the level of Chevalier by President Deby. Bob received the Sovereign Medal for Volunteers from the Governor General of Canada, and he also received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal Bob has been married to Ann an Honorary Rotarian for 64 years. They are both major donors of The Rotary Foundation and members of the Arch Klumph Society. They have 4 married children and 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. |

Evelyn Sham is a member of the Rotaract Club of Toronto and enjoys singing, guitaring, and writing music in her spare time. Her musical journey is one that has been blended with her love for poetry and storytelling. Evelyn began developing her craft through university coffee houses, talent shows, as well as her YouTube channel, and continued on to perform at open mics and shows around Toronto. |

Note: In accordance with Club Bylaws, a quorum of Members is required for this meeting (1/3 of the Membership attending or by Proxy). If you are unable to attend this meeting, please fill out the Proxy and scan and return it to Secretary Ron Miller via email
Only Proxies received by November 22, 2023 (12:00 PM) will be accepted
Several important votes by the Membership will take place at the AGM, including approval of the 2024-2025 Board of Directors. |

The Etobicoke Lakeshore Santa Claus Parade started as an idea in 1990 as a collaborative effort between the Lakeshore Village (New Toronto) BIA and Long Branch BIA. The parade has grown to bring together over 60,000 members of the community every year, and is celebrating its 33rd anniversary in 2023.
Rotary Etobicoke togther with Rotary Club of Toronto West and Toronto Tibetan will take part in the parade this year. Family, young and old are welcome to take part. This year we will have a float.
Everyone is welcome to join in the celebration and walk with our float, while greeting families along the parade and distributing candy canes. Come on out to join us! |
