Membership Approval and Response Required Since November 2022 the 2023 Ribfest Committee has been hard at work reviewing the feasibility of a Fundraising Event - 2023 Ribfest With the Support of The Board of Directors, and on behalf of the 2023 Ribfest Committee I am submitting the following attachments for all membership review. 1. Ribfest Committee Report To Board of Directors 2. Rationale for Downsizing the Footprint of Ribfest 2023 3. 2023 Planning Map 4. Ribfest 2023 Budget versus 2019 Ribfest Actuals. In order to proceed with Ribfest 2023 the Board is requesting that the membership approve this fundraising event. Save the Date Friday June 30th, 2023, to Monday July 3rd, 2023 Ribfest 2023 (Reduced Plan - Site is concrete parking lot between the Ski Chalet and the Arena) The 2023 Ribfest Committee is in the early stages of determining the viability of a successful 2023 Ribfest. Keep in mind that Ribfest has been and continues to be the major fundraising source for the Rotary Club of Etobicoke. The success of Ribfest and our ability to fund community requests is 100% dependent upon the volunteers “obtaining donations at the entrance”. If the entrance donations meet our target, the potential profits will be $60,000.00. The Ribfest revenues from beer, pop sales and sponsorships has declined steadily over the years making entrance donations our sole source of net revenue. In addition to the volunteers needed throughout the event, experience has shown that it is critical that the entrance be staffed by Rotarians. Using non-Rotarian volunteers to solicit donations at the entrance just doesn’t work. The credibility, commitment, and passion of Rotarians at the entrance promotes and motivates attendees to donate. To ensure a successful Ribfest 2023, we are sending you advanced notice to obtain your commitment to volunteer for 1, 2, or more 4-hour shifts at the entrance. The decision to operate Ribfest 2023 depends upon having enough Rotarian volunteers to staff the entrance for donations otherwise Ribfest is not financially viable. The Ribfest committee’s goal is to report our findings back to the Board of Directors before November 1, 2022, along with a recommendation to pursue Ribfest 2023 or not. Please think about from the table below the number of 4 hour shifts that you can be available for during Ribfest 2023. When you hit REGISTER below, indicate # of shifts in "TAG TEXT"
