Our annual Neighborhood Thanksgiving Food Drive is here!
This year, Jane Botsford from Toronto to West Club has reached out to me asking to join us, together with both the Interact clubs(ECI &RCI). We are looking at doubling the number of bags we will be dropping off this year (1000).
Our club & ECI will only be focused on the Kingsway, and Toronto West & RCI will focus around RCI.
For the last number of years we have been collecting food donations and cheques on the Kingsway.
The donations of Food and Cheques are given to the two Salvation Centers (North and South Etobicoke) and Weston Area Emergency Support (WAES) food bank to help families in need celebrate Thanksgiving.
This year families are facing food shortages as food prices have gone up and it looks like they will continue to go up with inflation.
Andrea from DUCA has provided us with 500 bags for the Food Drive! Jane will arrange for 500 other bags to be secured.
BrandingCentres.com in Etobicoke will furnish the flyers for free. Sonam has sponsored the food drive with a financial donation. Thank you to all for their generous support!
We need help!
Jane will be working with ECI & RCI to staple all the flyers on the bags and have them ready for Wednesday the 28th.
Wednesday, 28th of September - 3:30pm - meet at the ECI on Montgomery - placing of the bags on the door handle of homes- approximately 1.5 hours - vehicle required - we need help with driving the bags, the ECI Interact volunteers will be placing the bags on the door knobs.
Sunday, 2rd of October - 12pm - pick up bags in the Neighborhood - assemble at the ECI parking lot - approximately 1 hour - vehicle required - Jane will work with ECI Interact to help with pick up.
We need help on any date you are available, this year we need help with transportation on both dates. Please join us on any of the dates you are available. We need vehicles with drivers.
Contact me or Jane directly and let me know what works best for you.
Thank you,
Iosif
